Virtual Terminal is, as the name suggests, an electronic
terminal which an agent at a call centre can access through his or her browser
and a log-in page. The terminal can be used to register card payments. As the
card details are registered with PayEx, there is no need for to obtain separate
PCI certification for the company’s own systems.
The agent receives the customer’s card details over the
phone. He or she then logs in to the virtual terminal and registers details
about the purchase along with the customer’s card details and executes the
payment. A reply is generated immediately, and the agent can inform the
customer that the purchase has been completed.
The service supports payment by:
- Visa
- MasterCard
- Diners Club
- American Express
- PayEx Invoice
In addition signing a merchant agreement with PayEx Virtual Terminal,
an acquiring agreement for MOTO payments by Visa and MasterCard needs to be
concluded with an acquirer.
MOTO stands for Mail Order, Telephone Order and refers to
how the seller has received card details
